Betsy Ross House

239 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA !9106

Historic home of  Betsy Ross who legend has as the first flag maker commissioned by George Washington.  Key word there is “legend”.  That’s why she only recognized in children school plays and not in educational history text books.  The first accounts of Betsy Ross making our flag in this Philadelphia home seems only able to be traced back to about 100 years later in 1876.
